I am currently writing a Gothic tale set somewhere in Eastern Europe, in a time before cars and electricity.
My head has a handful of stories waiting in line for me to finish one so I can start the other. And even though they are waiting to be written, I can see them very clearly. The colours, the mood, the frames.
A few days ago, while searching for something else, I came across Bulgarian artist Magdalena Wanli. And my heart stopped. All of a sudden, it was like someone else had tapped into my brain and given life to the images lying around there, still in the cocoon.
I have no idea why I can’t find any reference of storybooks with her work as illustrations – but I hope I can change that someday.
